A trailer has finally surfaced for Open Windows, the new film from Spanish filmmaker Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes) starring Elijah Wood and former porn starlet Sasha Grey. It brings together celebrity voyeurism, webcams and phone cams, and lots and lots of windows on the computer screen.
Wood plays a superfan who gets to cyber-creep on one of his favorite actresses thanks to a stalker/murderer with Dario Argento gloves. Thrill-arity ensues.
Wonder if the majority of the film will be staged entirely on someone’s desktop. Don’t know how I feel about that, though this might be a larger discussion about the way movies are seen, i.e., a movie that’s staged on a desktop would probably play better at home or on smaller screens rather than in a movie theater.
