Trailer for SyFy’s Krypton follows the life of Superman’s grandfather

0

A while ago we heard word that writer/director David Goyer (Batman Begins, Man of Steel) was working on a SyFy show about Krypton, the home planet of Superman. We now have a trailer for the show, which features Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe), the grandfather of Kal-El/The Man of Tomorrow/Supes.

The show looks kind of like a CW riff on Game of Thrones via the Superman mythos. Make of that what you will. As io9 learned from SyFy, the following trailer is unofficial.

Check out the trailer for Krypton below.

Yeah, I’m not sure what to make of this, really. It looks… like a show. Syfy apparently hasn’t ordered a full season yet. Joining Cuffe in the cast are Georgina Campbell as Lyta Zod (I expect her to be like General Zod by way of Catwoman) and Ian McElhinney as Val-El (Superman’s grandpa’s grandpa).

No official release date is set for Krypton, but we should see the pilot episode of the show some time later this year.

Share your thoughts on the unofficial Krypton trailer in the comments.
