The Madagascar films never really stuck with me. They’re okay to watch in passing, or to occupy the kids for a few minutes, but they’re nothing special. That’s why I’m surprised I laughed as much as I did with this trailer for The Penguins of Madagascar.
A film version of the Nickelodeon spin-off TV show, the Penguins meet a rival group of arctic animal spies (led by a Benedict Cumberbatch voiced wolf) and have to take down an evil Octopus. I enjoyed many of the gags featured here (the baby squid gag especially), so I’ll be keeping an eye on it when it hits. The Penguins of Madagascar opens November 26th.
