Trailer: Found-footage movie The Gracefield Incident has aliens and a high-tech glass eye

There will be no end to found-footage movies. (Barring some worldwide cataclysm that ends film and society as we know it, of course.) They’re inexpensive and, in a handful of instances, innovative and inventive. Those rare films are few and far between, but you never know when they might pop up.

Now, The Gracefield Incident may not add anything to the form or the genre, but it at least has a gimmick’d glass eye as the camera. That’s something. Though we got a similar gimmick in V/H/S 2.

A trailer for The Gracefield Incident was recently released. Give it a watch below.

The Gracefield Incident - Official Trailer

Well, it looks like pretty standard found-footage fare, with some visual nods to Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind and M. Night Shayamalan’s Signs. And also another segment from V/H/S 2. Still, there might be something semi-promising about it. Maybe. Like POV beer pong. Maybe.

Here’s an official synopsis for The Gracefield Incident:

Matthew Donovan, a video game editor, embeds an iPhone camera into his prosthetic eye to secretly record and document a weekend with friends in a luxurious mountain top cabin. The weekend takes a terrifying turn when a meteorite crashes the party forcing everyone to face the darkest, screaming nightmare while somehow connecting life, love, and loss in a twist of fear.
