Around the office this morning, Glenn referred to this movie as “Lars and the Real Girl meets Kick-Ass.” It’s a pretty apt description for Griff the Invisible, an interesting-looking Australian romantic comedy hitting theaters August 19th. Griff (Ryan Kwanten) is an awkward office drone by day and a superhero by night who meets Melody (Maeve Dermody), who learns his superhero secret. There seems to be a lot of playing around with Griff’s fantasy world going on. Is he actually a superhero at night, or is it all some kind of figment of his imagination, an outlet for his troubled mind?
I’m interested in this one, and I hope I get to see it come August.
