If this trailer doesn’t get the ole’ blood pumper palpitating, you may need to check for a pulse. It has danger, excitement, and even a heartfelt moment or two tossed in for good measure. I read the book a couple of years ago and it seems that the film is staying true to its source material, or at least the trailer is. Ang Lee is a director who knows the nuances of displaying a character’s emotions, and from what I recall of the novel much of Pi’s adventure was not only his struggle to survive, but also his coping with the loneliness of being lost at sea with a pissed off tiger.
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if we get something that can hold up to the original work. If nothing else, do you see all of those colors?! The art direction is absolutely beautiful! It’s like a unicorn is licking my eyeballs!
