I haven’t heard a lot about Lockout, starring Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace, and PETER F**KING STORMARE. I’m liking the vibe this trailer sets down though. The synopsis is also a fairly simple one: “A man (Guy Pearce) wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. is offered his freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter (Maggie Grace) from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.”
Guy Pearce has to rescue the President’s Daughter from Space Jail. I’m sorry, but that’s just cool. It’s like the plot of an 80s arcade game I’d have wasted hundreds of dollars on back in the day. The trailer’s got a real B-movie sensibility about it, which I’m fine with because I’m also getting a strong Outland vibe, which is, of course, one of the highest possible praises.
There’s a few different release dates for this movie floating around, and the one at the end of the trailer is probably for the French release. IMDB says the release date is April 20th for the USA, so I suppose go with that?
