Trailer: Mars Needs Moms

0

While I was waiting to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 over the weekend in IMAX, this was one of the previews the audience and I were faced with. I could point out that it’s digging holes in the “uncanny valley” or that the son and mother don’t look that interesting or comical, but as just a children’s movie it looks like it won’t disappoint the audience it’s aimed at.

Plus, it gains bonus points for at least exploring an alien civilization, which is more than most big budget movies can say. With a plot that’s literally “Mars aliens steal Earth mothers to help raise Mars alien babies” I’m hesitant to say it will be better than Skyline, but at least it’s being creative. With Seth Green voicing the son Milo, it makes me wonder why they didn’t push hard to get Jack Black as the fat guy in hopes of high profits. It’s not like he’s that choosy.
