Trailer: Mother’s Day

0

Mother’s Day isn’t the Life TV channel family drama you’re probably expecting. Instead this remake focuses on a group of brothers whose bank robbery goes wrong so they look to their nefarious mother for help, except her sinister plan does more harm than good. This grim thriller was shown at the Fantastic Fest last year but will be out in UK and American theaters on April 1st this year.

From just watching the trailer it’s hard to tell what level of film expertise this movie will deliver; there sure is a lot of questionable acting and dialogue. On one hand you’ve got a horror plot that’s not like every crappy Saw movie these days, but on the other severed hand it’s done by Darren Lynn Bousman, the director of Saw II,III, and IV!

The fact that True Blood‘s Deborah Ann Woll is in it is almost enough to make me see it in theaters, but I’d just rather rewatch Lauren Lee Smith in Pathology. She’s a hotter and better actress and it’s most likely far superior thriller film. This looks like a good rental though; we’ll make sure to review it later this year to keep you…
