The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is definitely winning the most charming looking holiday film award. Life affirming music and a sad sack Ben Stiller will get me every time. Then throw in some dramatic sunsets and a world journey and you’ve got warm fuzzy feelings all over. Of course, the short story the film is based on doesn’t really end (or begin) that well, but they seem to be taking some liberties with it here.
We’ll all be waiting until December to see the film, which is obviously hoping for an Oscar nod here or there and to pick up the good charm of the Holidays. It’s tough to say if it will. Ben Stiller is directing so we have no clue how the quality might actually turn out. Alec had a chance to check the movie out at NYFF this year so make sure you swing back around and catch his review.
