Trailer: Rio

0

Yes, I know we posted this in the trailer round-up post, but I thought it deserved a separate discussion to see what everyone’s thoughts are. Charming and fun? Or tame and bland? I’ve got to admit that the premise and the journey have me optimistic.

Normally I dislike when I can easily recognize a voice actor’s voice in a CGI film, but having the mental image of Anne Hathaway (Love and Other Drugs, Brokeback Mountain, Havoc) and Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network, Zombieland, Adventureland) teaming up as an unlikely pair and bickering for a whole film could make for some enjoyable laughs for all ages.

Add Leslie Mann as the macaw’s quirky owner, plenty of other side characters, and a journey to Rio de Janeiro, and you’ve got a film that will probably not be anywhere near as good as Finding Nemo but is still worth watching. Rio is scheduled for an April 8th release next year, so we have plenty of time to make up our minds. Anyone else on the fence with this one?
