I’m not saying that Rise of the Planet of the Apes is going to be a great movie by any stretch of the imagination. The more I see of it in trailers, the more I think, if nothing else, that it’s going to be a fun movie, the kind of dumb fun summer movie that I crave and have been wanting this year, given how poor the prospects have been. I’m not a hard man to please, when it comes to the summer blockbuster, and a movie about monkeys taking over the planet could be exactly what I need. Either way, we can all agree that Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a needlessly long title, and it should have been just Rise of the Apes, right?
