Trailer: The Change-Up

Ahhh, the old opposites switching places routine. It’s been done so many times and to so many varying degrees of success that’s it’s hard to predict how each new take on this, shall we say, genre is going to come out. This time around the the guys behind The Hangover are taking a stab at it with their new comedy The Change-Up.

As you can see from the above red band trailer it veers a bit more towards the adult humor of Trading Places than the family friendly fare of Freaky Friday. Still, it follows the same story. The one where two people living opposite lives get the chance to live the other person’s life — here accomplished by pissing in a fountain — and find out that it wasn’t all that it was cracked up to be, but still learn some life lessons along the way.

The question is will this turn out to be one of the bad place swapping films or one of the good ones. I’m hoping that its quality creative team and the likes of Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds (my man crush) make it the latter.
