Trailer: The Perks of Being a Wallflower

As Hubert mentioned on Friday, the trailer for the film adaptation of Stephen Chbosky’s novel, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, was set to debut last night during the MTV Movie Awards. Lo and behold, we have the trailer for you in case you weren’t too interested to find out who won MTV’s Best Kiss Award (Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson won).

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is one of those novels I’ve always heard about but never had a chance to read. Based off the trailer, however, I can imply that it tracks the awkward high school experience of a new kid at a new school, Charlie (Logan Lerman, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters), who inexplicably befriends the “weird” kids, Patrick (Ezra Miller, We Need to Talk about Kevin) and Sam (Emma Watson, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows). Interestingly enough, Chbosky also wrote the screenplay and directed the film, increasing the odds of the film staying as genuine as possible to the novel. More importantly, Emma acts with an endearing American accent.

You, too, can become a wallflower when the film hits theaters on September 14th.
