By Aardman Animations has jumped on the pop-culture band-wagon with this new trailer for their newest claymation movie The Pirates! Band of Misfits – also known as, The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists. The new trailer parodies the silly popular Hunger Games starring Jennifer Lawrence which came roaring into the box office a few weekends ago.
The trailer says that the Pirates are training for the “Pirate Games,” with events such as water-skiing and fencing. I’m not sure whether I feel as though this trailer is a clever re-dub of their older trailers, or whether it’s an odd example of pandering for popularity. Either way, Pirates! Band of Misfits comes out in the U.S. on April 27th.
