Trailer: Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Seriously, what is up with the title of this movie? I don’t understand. It sounds like it was going for the mysterious, emotional connotations of “dark side of the moon” but wanted to convey that this will be a movie about robots and explosions. Someone was all like, “Look at all those buildings falling over, man! This stuff is hardcore.” It’s apparently so hardcore that the moon stops giving off light. I mean, I know there are segments on the moon, but it seems pretty well-lit to me. Maybe it gets blown up or something during the movie. That would be a pretty sweet explosion.

I don’t want to spoil the trailer for you, but there are some Transformers present, some lovely buildings are broken, and Shia LaBeouf tries desperately to look like an action hero. Perhaps he is the one to blow up the moon if said action occurs. Perhaps he will be on the moon when it explodes, and his pouty-lipped love interest will be all alone on Earth. That would hurt their chances of a sequel, but isn’t the point to see giant robots fighting? It certainly couldn’t hurt the franchise.
