I’m very psyched for Twixt after watching it remixed live at Comic Con, so believe me when I tell you that this is a pretty bad trailer. Obviously, there’s no way to play the live editing stuff in a static trailer, so that’s a given, but this trailer makes it look like some low-budget horror movie with Val Kilmer working for hot Ding Dongs. There’s a Twin Peaks level of odd-ness that pervades the film that simply doesn’t exist in this over-long trailer.
Suffice to say, this is probably your first taste of Twixt, so I implore you: try not to judge it too harshly based on this trailer. It doesn’t do the film justice. As a reminder, Twixt is about a low-rent writer (Val Kilmer) that finds himself drawn into an odd mystery in a small town. Also, he’s visited by Edgar Allan Poe in his dreams.
