John C. Reilly and Tilda Swinton play the parents of sociopathic teenager Kevin, played by Ezra Miller. Kevin and his mother have never had a close relationship, and when Kevin does something “heinous,” his mother must deal with the aftermath. With this trailer, I can’t really tell if the “heinous” act is creating pornographic malware or murdering someone. Maybe it’s a fun mixture of both!
We Need to Talk About Kevin premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and will be hitting theaters in France in late September. We haven’t yet seen a trailer for its US release in December, but this one gives a pretty good feel for the movie. I really hope the casting call for this was simply “really creepy children.” Seriously, look at all the versions of Kevin. He is pretty terrifying.
