True Grit lands a dime novel comic

If you were a fan of the Coen brother’s remake of True Grit (and who isn’t) then be prepared to read a comic about it.

OK, maybe that didn’t come across as exciting as it should have, but this comic made by Paramount to promote the film’s international release is pretty darn cool. They say its inspired by the dime novels that originally inspired the classic western film, and I say it’s a pretty good read.

The comic basically tells the same story that Rooster Cogburn told in the court room near the beginning of the movie, except now you get to see it and you can understand every word being said. I think Christian Wildgoose’s art alone is worth a look through, even if you’ve already heard the story.

Check it out here or download a PDF of it here.
