Two more LEGO movies may already have release dates

With The LEGO Movie being awesome and also destroying the box office WB was quick to announce a sequel and a spin-off based on their Ninjago line of LEGO. Two upcoming movies should be enough, but the want more. THR is reporting that WB has grabbed May 25, 2018 and May 24, 2019 as release dates for animated movies. Their insiders are telling them that both those Memorial Day weekend releases will be LEGO films.

Of course those dates are really far off so things could change, but if it’s true I’m calling overkill right now. I’m all for creative LEGO movies, because they’re just that, but releasing one a year is just asking to bury the franchise in mediocrity because, admit it, before The LEGO Movie kicked butt you thought it was just going to be a cheap cash in. That’s what things seem to be steering towards.
