Ty Burrell tags in for Peabody & Sherman

Last January, I wrote about the upcoming Peabody’s Improbable History film adaptation that had Robert Downey, Jr. slated to do voicework for the titular character, Mr. Peabody. However, it seems some sort of conflict has arisen, because Variety recently reported that Modern Family star, Ty Burrell, is gonna be the voice behind the dog. Also announced was the casting of Max Charles as the voice of Sherman.

For those unfamiliar with the cartoon, Mr. Peabody is a dog… and so happens to be the world’s smartest person. His “boy,” Sherman serves as a student, pet, assistant, etc. in a means of role reversal. According to early reports, the film, tentatively titled Peabody & Sherman, will be about Sherman’s unadvised trave back through time in Peabody’s WABAC machine which causes extensive (and humorous) changes across history. It’s then up to Peabody and Sherman to travel back in time in order to straighten things out.

I’m super excited to see more on the film, but we’ll have to wait until at least March 2014 to see it. Dag.
