Update: And it’s been funded. The goal of $2 million was reached in just 10 hours and as of this writing has been surpassed by $542,221. The Kickstarter broke a record by reaching $1 million in under four-and-a-half hours. Of course you can still donate as more money theoretically will make a better movie.
Flixitentialists we very rarely ask you for things other than questions or comments, but today we really must insist that you fund the Kickstarter for a Veronica Mars movie. A film based on the beloved and completely amazing show has been kicked around for a while now as Jason Dogring told us, but this is how it’s going to become a reality. As you can see from the Kickstarter page everyone is in including series creator Rob Thomas, Kirsten Bell and, even more surprisingly, Warner Bros.
For any fan of the show this is awesome and for anyone who hasn’t watched the show you should do that. Right now. Go.
Now you want to donate don’t you. If the film reaches its goal of $2 million dollars it will not only get made, but also be the largest film Kickstarter in the history of Kickstarter. It’s a pretty lofty goal, but as Thomas breaks it down each fan just needs to give a little to get the movie made. So go get the movie made!
