We don’t have to wait as long to keep quiet with A Quiet Place 2 moving up its release date

Someone at Paramount must’ve heard the masses crying for a horror movie sooner than was originally intended since they have decided to move A Quiet Place 2 up a few months to March 20, 2020, from its initial release date of May 15, 2020. This comes as part of the rearranging of release dates that have been done since Sonic the Hedgehog was pushed back to fix what was so very wrong with the first design. Sonic‘s loss is A Quiet Place 2‘s gain. This is hopefully a good sign for the upcoming sequel and could be a vote of confidence in the potential quality of the final product.

A Quiet Place was a success both critically and financially. We even named it our favorite horror movie of last year. The use of sound or lack thereof was a unique and engaging device that set it apart from other horror movies. It was an impressive effort coming from a first-time horror director. Expectations for the sequel are understandably high with John Krasinski returning to direct along with Emily Blunt reprising her role. It’s hard not to be excited about this sequel and the possibilities where they can go from the original’s ending. We don’t know anything specific about the plot yet, but if they keep the same tense atmosphere and excellent sound design then we should be in for another scary time.
