Will the Wachowskis direct the Justice League movie?

Ben Affleck told 24 Hours Vancouver that he will NOT be directing the Justice League movie. You may recall a previous report that Affleck was under consideration for the film. He said the following in the interview:

“I’m not working on the Justice League. One of the problems with entertainment web sites is that they need to fill pages, and that’s how rumours get started.” He continued, “Justice League sounds really exciting, but it’s not something I’m working on.”

Well, it’s time for us to make the donuts, Ben.

There’s a new rumor from Moviehole that Lana and Andy Wachowski are being considered to direct the Justice League movie. If the rumor is true, Affleck and the Wachowskis are both on a Warner Bros. wishlist of prospective directors. As of now, there’s no other word on who else is on said list.

A lot of this is likely riding on the reception of Cloud Atlas, the ambitious adaptation of David Mitchell’s novel that the Wachowskis co-directed (co-co-directed?) with Tom Tykwer. Collider notes that the Wachowskis are now preparing Jupiter Ascending with Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum, so they may not have the time for the League.

Who’s on your Justice League director wishlist?
