With no competition, Aquaman tops Box Office again

0

Is Aquaman going to be this year’s Jumanji? The latter film held on to the top ten box office so long it seemed like it never went away thanks to being enjoyable and having no competition. Aquaman is doing much the same for much the same reason. It topped the charts again this week as it pulled together $30.7 million. We’ll have to wait and see if this lasts.

That wasn’t so surprising, but Escape Room coming in second and pulling down $18 million sure is. That film had no buzz and is opening in the first week of January, which is usually hell. Doubling its budget in one weekend is far better than anyone who worked on that movie could have hoped for. I guess folks wanted some horror to kick off the new year.
