Woman says Drive is anti-Semitic, sues over the trailer

The best film of the year has come under fire from a Michigan woman named Sarah Deming. Ms. Deming, who is a terrible, stupid person, saw the trailer for Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive and went in expecting something akin to the The Fast and the Furious series. Instead, she got a high quality film, something which has offended her so much that she has decided to sue its distributor (FilmDistrict) because the trailer was misleading (which I don’t entirely agree with). That is stupid enough in and of itself, but it’s made so much worse when she states in the lawsuit:

Drive was a motion picture that substantially contained extreme gratuitous defamatory dehumanizing racism directed against members of the Jewish faith, and thereby promoted criminal violence against members of the Jewish faith.

Disgusting, stupid, and completely wrong. There is, quite literally, none of that in the film. At all. Hell, outside of the Jewish characters in the film, no one even mentions them. As much as I love the idea of punishing companies for misleading trailers, this is exactly the kind of stupid lawsuit that makes Weird Al sing funny songs about our justice system. With any luck, this suit will bankrupt Ms. Deming and force FilmDistrict to make better trailers. Everyone wins!
