Yet another Texas Chainsaw Massacre coming – in 3D this time

Freddy, Jason, Mike Myers. These are slashed film characters that warranted a sequel to their film. Maybe not as many as they got, but multiple films were at least excusable. Leatherface on the other hand shouldn’t have gone past one film. Two was seriously pushing it and the amount of suckage involved in the remakes and prequels is staggering. However, Hollywood just won’t let a bad franchise die, even if it shouldn’t have been a franchise in the first place.

News comes that Saw franchise producer Mark Burg will be joining Carl Mazzocone and bringing another installment of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to the blood-soaked silver screen. This new hook this time? 3D, of course.

Lionsgate is reportedly just finishing a screenplay for Leatherface 3D. The plot will pick up directly after Tobe Hooper’s classic finished and then flash forward 35 years. Not much more is known except for two facts: a cult of some sort will be involved and I have very little faith in this being any good at all. The former fact is just a rumor, the latter is 100 percent confirmed.
