Zombieland 2 cameo and villain rumors only partially denied

Over the weekend there was a rumor that there would be another celebrity cameo (possibly Harrison Ford or Anthony Hopkins) to match Bill Murray’s hilarious role in the first film. It was also mentioned that there’d be a comedic villain this time around, to up the ante past just fighting a planet full of zombies. Lastly, the rumor claimed that Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) would have a “hunky rival” as well.

Zombieland 2 co-writer Rhett Reese has actually responded to the rumors via Twitter stating that “The Zombieland 2 rumors feel like they were the product of a game of ‘Telephone.’ Distorted.” I always like it when people are willing to admit there’s a grain of truth involved, and challenge us to guess at which piece of the puzzle is real instead of neither confirming nor denying every single rumor.

My guess is that Harrelson will have a female rival that he used to date, who may turn out to be the “villain” by the middle, and then turn good by the end, so that they can live happily ever after . . . on a planet filled with zombies. Enough unfounded speculation from me! Let’s hear your guesses!
