A third Ant-Man film is in the works with one of Rick and Morty’s writers

As Hollywood scrambles to find ways of weathering the coronavirus pandemic, deals have still gone through for a future once we start to emerge from our quarantine dream (nightmare). One of which involves the fate of Marvel’s mite-sized Avenger and his third feature film. And this time Ant-Man’s got some backup.

The third Ant-Man film will be directed by Peyton Reed, who handled the original and 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp. Along for the ride this time is Jeff Loveness, a writer and producer on smash-hit Adult Swim series Rick and Morty. Loveness joins as a writer on the untitled third film, one whose release date hasn’t yet been considered.

With Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe turned upside-down by the pandemic, and pre-production possibly just beginning on “Ant-Man 3,” it’s likely not for several years that we’ll catch the ongoing tiny tribulations of Scott Lang, arthropod adventurer. It is presumed that Paul Rudd will take up the mantle of Ant-Man once again, though this remains unconfirmed.

For more Marvel, ants, and Rick and Morty, stay tuned.
