After what seems like eons, we finally have a look at the upcoming Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus! TV film. Airing a week after the Rocko’s Modern Life special, this new special is coming 13 years after Zim basically had to give up on trying to conquer the world. Now that Netflix has swooped in to save the day, Zim will finally put his plans in motion and enslave us all.
I remember being a gigantic fan of the Nickelodeon show in middle school, but it seems like forever ago that I’ve even watched it. I have no idea if this special is going to live up to any of the expectations that fans may have, but I do think it’s nice that these fondly remembered classics are getting second chances to end on a proper note. While not every show is worth continuing and maybe Invader Zim doesn’t hold up, it’s a real shame when a proper finale can’t be done to give closure to a long-running story.
