Avatar poster mosaic art recreated using 4,000 Blu-ray discs

I’m surprised 20th Century Fox Home Video sent her blank discs; I wouldn’t put swimming in a pool of Avatar Blu-ray discs — Scrooge McDuck style — past James Cameron. I was a defender of him during most of the backlash he got, but when you re-release a brand new movie in theaters, then yeah, you’re on your own.

The Avatar mosaic was created by Laura Hadland, the Guinness World Record holder for the largest toast mural, to help promote the Blu-ray release of Avatar: The Collectors Edition. The entire piece of art is 9.6 by 6 meters, and took five people four hours to complete. Check out more photos in the image gallery below, or check out her personal blog here to see other projects Laura has worked on in the past.
