Bloody The Furies clip is the stuff Halloween dreams are made of

Do you want to see a masked psycho hillbilly flay a woman’s face off with a big (and not very famous) ax? Well, then click away! I won’t stop you. Since it’s now October, no one’s really allowed to say no to this stuff, anyway.

The above clip for Shudder’s The Furies is a pretty grisly bit of practical effects work that I can totally get behind. It opens with a bit of shoddy editing that makes the slasher’s chase after his victim go on cartoonishly long, but once that ax sinks in we’re all feeling the best possible pain.

The Furies sees a group of women all mysteriously kidnapped to a stretch of wilderness where a pack of value-priced Jason Voorheeses attempt to murder them, until they band together to fight back–and then turn on each other. Gasp!

It’s a pretty standard setup, but this looks like one worth watching for the toe-curling effects alone. It bled onto Shudder’s servers on October 3, so go ahead and watch it, if you got the subscription.
