C What’s On: The Criterion Channel’s Programming for June 2020

As the dawn of summer begins proper, American theaters are still in a state of limbo under the global pandemic. Good thing the Criterion Channel is chugging along!

Featuring an array of LGBT films in celebration of Pride Month, the Channel remains committed to remaining current despite its primarily-archival leanings. A critical role in curating appreciation of older films, I think, is relating them to contemporary audiences, and the Criterion Channel excels at bunching their updated roster together in appealing ways, as well as highlighting films already available.
