By Netflix has announced that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 4 will be premiering on December 31, 2020. Acting as a finale to this spooky series, it will also be closing out the hellscape that is 2020 by being the final release from the streaming juggernaut on its service. That’s almost fitting considering the subject material and the aforementioned misery that this year has brought.
As for what the trailer reveals…I couldn’t tell you. It’s mostly a sizzle reel of highlights that mean nothing out of context. I suppose I shouldn’t have expected anything else, but it would be nice to have an idea of what is going on. The whole “FINAL CHAPTER” and “We have never faced a peril such as this” bits sound ominous but could mean nothing in the grand scheme of things.
At least fans can rest easy knowing that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will have an actual conclusion. Netflix has a really bad tendency to create a mega-popular show, then can it after three seasons with no legitimate finale to cap things off. Glow was recently canceled without proper closure and I have no idea what is going on with Lost in Space. At least Sabrina will buck that trend and cap things off.
