Dan Brown’s character Robert Langdon headed to NBC

For fans of Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code and all the subsequent titles starring Professor Robert Langdon, we have some news for you. The film series could become a TV drama headed to NBC. Tom Hanks, who played Langdon in the films, became synonymous with the character but he will not be playing him in the TV show.

NBC just announced that it has greenlit the pilot episode for Langdon which is based on Dan Brown’s last book in the series called The Lost Symbol. For fans worried that it won’t stay true to the source material, don’t worry. Brown himself will be an Executive Producer along with the following people from Imagine Television: Ron Howard, Brian Gazer, Anna Culp and Samie Falvey. The episode will be produced by CBS Television Studios and Universal Television.

I sincerely hope things work out and we get a full-fledged series. The films were so well done and it would be nice to see a show in the same universe.
