Darren Aronofsky’s Noah: some release and villain info

It’s been a while since we’ve reported anything on Darren Aronofsky’s Noah. After getting a glimpse of the European graphic novel of Noah and hearing that Christian Bale had dropped out of the project, it’s been a bit silent, at least until now. A little bit of new info has recently surfaced from Matthew Libatique, Aronofsky’s go-to cinematographer.

Labtique said that the movie would likely begin shooting this July in New York and Iceland, and will aim for a release in fall 2013. Apparently there will be a villain in the film: a man who tries to make Noah doubt the flood will happen and stop him from building an ark. Until anything official is announced, this shooting and release info should just be considered a best case scenario.

No word on the cast yet. With Bale out as Noah, some have speculated about Michael Fassbender as a replacement. Still no word from Fassbender himself as to whether he’s in or out of the film (his penis was not available for comment either).
