0

After smashing the Broadway box office, Dear Evan Hansen is now set to do the same thing in movie theaters. That’s right musical theater fans, the first trailer for the film adaption of the acclaimed Tony award-winning stage production is here. Ben Platt, the original Evan, reprises his role in this theatrical version and it’s shaping up to be a tearjerker.

For those who weren’t able to see the stage play, the movie follows the same plot. Evan Hansen is an awkward teenager struggling to fit in and find his place in the world. After breaking his arm and starting the new school year with a cast he, comes across Connor, another “outcast.” A letter Evan was typing to himself ends up in Connor’s possession, setting up a chain of events that will change not only Evan’s life but those around him.

Joining Platt is Julian Moore, Amy Adams, Dany Pino, Colton Ryan, Nik Dodani, Amandla Stenberg, Kaitlyn Dever, Issac Powell, and DeMarius Copes. Powell and Copes are set to play brand new characters.

Get ready to dive in for an emotional rollercoaster rider when Dear Evan Hansen hits theaters on September 24. This is one film you don’t want to miss out on.
