Fate: The Winx Saga has been renewed for season two…for some reason

0

Netflix has announced that its gritty reboot of The Winx Club, titled Fate: The Winx Saga, has been renewed for a second season after premiering in late January. Apparently, the reception was good enough for another slate of episodes to get ordered, though you wouldn’t know that from the press surrounding it. By all accounts I can find, most people really dislike this “mature” and “adult” version of a beloved animated series.

In a press release for this announcement, showrunner Brian Young stated, “The six episodes in season one only scratched the surface of this incredibly rich world and the powerful fairies who inhabit it. As Bloom’s story continues to evolve, I can’t wait for you to learn even more about Aisha, Stella, Terra, and Musa! And you never know who might show up at Alfea next term…

I don’t know what any of that means. I’m only really interested because Flixist’s own Tarah Bleier was super disappointed with the season. In an effort to contain her rage, I decided to tackle this before she explodes from grief. Maybe she’ll let her fury out on the world one day, but not yet.

For now, just know that Fate: The Winx Saga has been renewed and the world will be a darker place for it.
