First teaser for Netflix’s Series of Unfortunate Events shows off NPH’s Count Olaf

With its upcoming adaptation of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, Netflix hopes to wash the taste of that mediocre Jim Carrey movie out of the mouths of fans once and for all. Now, we’ve gotten our first official peek at the series, which focuses on Neil Patrick Harris’ Count Olaf. 

It’s a brief look, and we see very little of Harris doing his thing. Still, he looks the part, if nothing else. Check it out:

A Series of Unfortunate Events is a series of children’s novels written by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler), which focuses on three orphans who find themselves in the care of Count Olaf after their parents are killed in a fire. The siblings must avoid Olaf’s murderous plans to steal their inheritance. 

The entire eight-episode first season drops on January 13. The series also stars Patrick Warburton, Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes and Joan Cusack.
