Flix for Short: Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win

[Flix for Short is Flixist’s way of showing off awesome short films we find around the web. Do you have a favorite short you saw? Why not tell us about it in our Community Blogs? We’d love to see what short films you can make and find!]

Yetis, GI Joes, explosions, hip-hop, zombies, and special guest Santi Gold. Spike Jonze reunites with the Beastie Boys for this long form music video/short film that is one of the most delightful things I’ve seen all day. It’s like a bunch of ten year olds got ahold of a bunch of GI Joes and some construction paper, and decided to make a movie. Right down to the dialogue, Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win is the best kind of nostalgic fun. While it isn’t as completely balls-out ridiculous as their Fight For Your Right Revisited short from a couple months backDon’t Play No Game hits me in a place that takes me right back to being nine years old. That, and it’s great to see shorts shot on film again. I miss those days.
