Gavin O’Connor is looking to direct new Taylor Sheridan script

If you’ve taken note of the name Taylor Sheridan in recent years that might be due to the fact that he’s one of the most in-demand writers working today. He’s written such hits as Sicario, Hell or High Water, and his directorial debut Wind River. With a resume like that, just about everyone wants a script from this guy.

It, unfortunately, seems that he and Warner Bros couldn’t come to an agreement regarding him also directing his newest script, Fast. This is where Gavin O’Connor steps in. He’s a veteran director with some well-received movies under his belt and has served as a replacement director before, most notably on Jane Got A Gun on very short notice.

Fast “follows a former special forces commando who’s recruited by the DEA to lead a black ops strike team targeting drug dealers who are protected by the CIA.” This is right in Sheridan’s writing wheelhouse and O’Connor is more than capable of bringing this kind of story to the big screen. Chris Pratt was considered to star, but now that Sheridan has left his involvement is up in the air.

A production start date for Fast is unknown at this time
