By Starring Charlize Theron, Netflix has released the first trailer for The Old Guard, the upcoming action film based on Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernandez’s Image Comics series of the same name.
Fighting through the centuries as blades-and-eventually-guns-for-hire, ‘Andy’ (Theron) and her band of merry mercs have plied their trade to those in need and with the proper change for centuries, their immortality a major plus on the battlefield. In the 21st century it’s a little trickier to hide an undying soldier, making the vets a target for all sorts of conniving forces.
Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood from a script by original writer Greg Rucka, The Old Guard also features KiKi Layne, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Harry Melling, Van Veronica Ngo, Matthias Schoenaerts and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Netflix continues its onslaught of original features, as well as provide a home for Image Comics adaptations. Hopefully The Old Guard stands with the best of them when it releases July 10th.
