Jamie Lee Curtis joins the new Rian Johnson film that isn’t Star Wars

After spending some quality time with an old friend in Halloween, Jamie Lee Curtis is ready to dive into her next role, confirming she’ll be joining Rian Johnson’s Knives Out. The cast is already an impressive one, as Curtis is set to share the screen with Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Lakeith Stanfield, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, and Ana de Armas. Johnson is writing and directing the murder mystery flick, with Craig set to play as the lead detective.

The rest of the film is under wraps, including Curtis’s role in the story. While the mystery surrounding the mystery movie will remain as such for now, it bodes as a bit of a renaissance for Curtis. The long-time actor has seemingly come full circle forty years later with the sequel that basically Thanos’d the Halloween timeline between the two. So basically, Busta Rhymes never fought Mike in the linear Halloween Cinematic Universe.

Knives Out is Johnson’s post-Last Jedi and pre-whatever Star Wars movie he is or isn’t working on (reports seem to go back and forth with each rising sun) and allows a reprieve from rabid fans and the weight of trying successfully navigate the massive ongoing space saga. As scheduling stars aligned, Craig opted for the part when his–presumably–final role as James Bond was delayed after director Danny Boyle left the film

Knives Out is projected for release in 2019.
