Limited edition Oblivion vinyl soundtrack

In case listening to the Oblivion soundtrack online wasn’t enough, MondoTees has revealed a limited edition vinyl release of the Oblivion soundtrack. It will be a 180 gram 2X LP with a brilliant album cover and a beautiful interior. The soundtrack features original from Anthony Gonzalez of M83 and Joseph Trapanese (TRON: Uprising, The Raid: Redemption). The musical score is a hybrid of orchestral sound and the usual electronic sound that M83 is used to making.

The album also features custom artwork by artist Kilian Eng who designed the album cover and interior. Kilian had this to say about working on the vinyl packaging:

When I was given the honor to create artwork for the Oblivion soundtrack, I wanted toconvey the feeling of a world that was left behind; a place full of traces and remnants of a civilization long gone. An environment that truly makes the person exploring it feel small is a theme I often come back to in my artwork. For the front cover I wanted to describe this in a peaceful way. The warm colors of a sunset, or sunrise, adds an air of tranquility, providing the image a nice balance against the sharp, dark silhouettes in the foreground.

The Oblivion soundtrack goes on sale at MondoTees starting April 26 for $25. The retail release starts on May 28. Check out the gallery below for high resolution images of the cover and interior.
