Lore picks up new director in form of David Green

Lore is the umpteenth comic book adaptation that studios are grabbing up, but it’s been in production for a while with Dwayne Johnson attached to star and Warner Bros. attempting to get Men in Black director Barry Sonnenfeld to direct. He would make sense since Lore is be touted as much like Men in Black, but Sonnenfeld and the studio couldn’t come to an agreement on budget so he’s been dropped and David Green now has the helm.

It’s a bit shocking since Warner Bros. is hoping for lore to be a franchise tent pole for the studio and David Green has only one low-budget movie to his name in the form of a film called Echo that sat on the shelf at Disney before Relativity picked it up for a release in January. Maybe the wanted someone who would agree with whatever the budget they said he had or maybe the saw something in the kid.

Whatever the reason he’ll be tackling some hefty special effects as Lore is about a secret society that protects earth from mythological creatures. Sounds like it could be pretty cool if they execute it correctly. If Green isn’t up to the task we’ll probably be looking at another R.I.P.D.
