Marvel’s Netflix series could become movies

0

You’ve probably heard by now that Netflix announced a deal with Disney/Marvel for four new TV shows. If you haven’t, Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones will all be getting shows on Netflix that will culminate in a crossover mini-series. It’s exciting… unless you desperately wanted the Daredevil reboot movie to happen like I did and thought this closed the door on that. Evidently, that thought was wrong.

Walt Disney Company’s Chairman and CEO Bob Iger recently commented that while these characters were chosen because they aren’t as popular as others that doesn’t mean they won’t get movies if their shows aren’t hits. That’s pretty darn exciting. Of course the shows will have to do well, unlike the current Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., whose ratings continue to drop thanks to uninteresting characters, but Netflix has a better track record of not producing pap so this is definitely a good thing for fans of the characters.
