By Mondo’s next art show will take place conveniently during Austin’s Fanatstic Fest film festival. The festival will take place from September 20-27 in Austin, Texas at the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar. Mondo’s show, featuring pop-culture artists Robert Brandenburg and Craig Drake, will run from September 14 – October 6, at the Mondo Gallery, 4115 Guadalupe St in Austin, Texas.
Both artists deal with movie-related pop culture in various art forms, Brandenburg works with found paintings and print materials which he then adds to or manipulates with cultural icons to skew the meanings and intentions of both the original document and the pop-culture reference – while Drake is known for doing Patrick Nagel parody portraits of various famous female sci-fi characters. If you’re going to be in Austin for Fantastic Fest, this looks like an awesome show to see!
