Mondo to release My Neighbor Totoro posters by Olly Moss

Earlier today, Mondo, the poster and apparel distribution branch of the fabled Alamo Drafthouse, announced that this Friday, December 16th, they’re going to release two limited edition posters of the Studio Ghibli classic, My Neighbor Totoro, designed by the one and only Olly Moss. You can check out the goodness below.

There will be a Standard edition – in English – and a Variant edition – in Japanese. The posters will be 20” x 36” and will run $50 for the Standard and $90 for the Variant, respectively. The poster release will coincide with a recently announced 15-title, 25-year retrospective from Studio Ghibli, which will play at the IFC Center in New York City from Friday, December 16 to Thursday, January 12. Mondo and Studio Ghibili will be donating all the profits of the poster sales to the Ghetto Film School, an organization of educators and students who share a love for storytelling and filmmaking.

The next Ghibili film that Mondo is planning to create a poster for is Flixist staff fave Porco Rosso! Expect details on that to come! The Totoro posters will be released on the 16th at a random time, you can get a heads up when they go on sale by following Mondo’s Twitter, and I’ll tell you right now these things are going to get snatched up super fast!
