MORTAL KOMBAT! movie to debut in early 2021

News broke earlier this month about the new adaptation of the klassic fighting game franchise, with Aquaman and Conjuring maestro James Wan set to produce. We now have a little meaty morsel more of information, with Warner Bros. slapping a March 5, 2021 release date for the bloody brawler.

The early March debut would put the yet-to-be-titled Mortal Kombat movie toe-to-toe with Sony’s Masters of the Universe adaptation. Whoever wins, we win? Time will tell if the day will bring radical ’90s nostalgia or catatonic reversion to childhood memories.

The Mortal Kombat film is set to start soon, with principal photography slated for later this year in Adelaide, Australia. It’s being touted as the “biggest film production in the state’s history.” Simon McQuoid is set to direct, after years of experience directing commercials. Worth sharing is his terrific work from 2007 for Halo 3.

Stay tuned for more news on Mortal Kombat.
