Nearly all the players are set for the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot

According to a new report from Variety, New Line Cinema has lined up quite a few actors to portray several characters in the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot. The roles of Shang Tsung (Chin Han), Scorpion (Hiroyuki Sanada), Sonya Blade (Jessica McNamee), Kano (Josh Lawson), Raiden (Tadanobu Asano), Jax (Mehcad Brooks), and Mileena (Sisi Stringer) have been filled, which nearly completes the cast of characters. Lewis Tan has also been cast in an undisclosed role, which could be one of the various ninja characters from the franchise.

These players join the already confirmed Liu Kang (Ludi Lin) and Sub-Zero (Joe Taslim) and basically confirms this will be a retelling of the original video game. While a few characters from Mortal Kombat II are included, that is actually similar to what the original 1995 film did with its cast of characters. Pretty much everyone involved with this reboot has starred in some kind of action film, so there’s a very good chance we could have a hit on our hands.
